I am not prefect

I have never said, or thought, that anyone was perfect or had a prefect life. My thinking is when everything is prefect that's when it's over.

I think that some of the other moms that I spend time with (I think I've outgrown the phrase "hang out with") think that Savie is close to prefect. Not that they would ever day it but maybe it's me reading to much into their looks. Savie is by no means a prefect child. She has her days where she is clingy, whining, grumpy, rude, or just bad in a general way. Yesterday was one of those days. They happen. It's just a matter of how you deal with it, in my opinion. My thinking is how you react to a situation is how your child reacts to it as well. If you are clam and assertive, put on a brave front, then your child will have the confidence to do it. If you are upset and mad and angry, not happy about what is going on then they will act the same. I know it sounds weird but it's like dog training (I know it sounds kinda bad that way). But after watching a lot of Dog Whisperer, I've come to the conclusion that me being calm and going with the flow in most situations has helped Savie be confident.

We usually do stuff just the two of us when we are not at school and some of the other moms seemed surprised that she is, for example, ok about going on the rides at the fair by herself. We missed our friends so she really had no choice but she was fine with that. She has learned to make the best of her situation. Sure I would rather that she got to go on rides with a friend but you have to make do.

I started this post for a different reason but this will do. When I look at other families I know they are not prefect but they are having a prefect family moment.

What a day

Today was such a great day. Savie and I did the usual this morning, me sleeping in a little while she spends times with daddy. When we were ready we hit the Farmer's Market like always even though I knew there wouldn't be much there because a lot of them were up at the Blues Festival. It was soooooo much fun. I have been tot he festival every year since we've been here, 5 years now, and it has gotten better every time. This year was just so much fun. There were bigger bands, and a lot more of them. We have just spent the last 5 hours listening to some great bands and dancing. I am so tired that I can barely write this post. I will have to finish it tomorrow.

Night ladies!

A liitle labor day fun

I love doing meme's and since I can do this one I'm going to.

How long were your labors?

One child and it was 3 hours of real labor

How did you know you were in labor?

My dogs told me. Seriously my water didn't brake and the only reference I had was 10x worse then cramps and I have never had cramps in my life, I had no clue until my contractions were less then 5 minutes apart.

Where did you deliver?

At a hospital

Drugs?

I'm told I did have some but my daughter came so fast that I didn't really feel much. Other than the nurse tapping on my hand where an IV was.

C-section?

Nope

Who delivered?

A great midwife. She was really willing to work with me before having to call a doctor in at all. I really wish I could have given her a really big hug. I love her.

If you want to play head over to Shannon's blog and play.

The Start of school means.......

It's the start of school and that means the start of football season. Tonight we, Savie and I, went to a soap fundraiser scrimmage for the football team. Savie was so excieted about the game, she has aske me several times today if "we go to football game, now?" It was just to cute. We went, a little late as usual, but we made it none the less. Next week is "The Pick" a long standing game between us and Douglas. This year it is in Douglas so I will be taking a trip to DOuglas for the game. I missed it last year because I was working but that is not the case this year. So be prepared for some football talk this year. I hope that i don't bore anyone wiht it but it's fun for me.

I AM SO PROUD OF HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to yell but I am so proud of Savie.

Last night was our fashion show. I don't think I mentioned it all this week. Deb, the tie dye lady, and a couple of other people were having a fashion show last night to benefit the local animal shelter. It was great. We each had 3 outfits to wear and I think there were 9 of us all together, with 3 of them couples. We had a pretty simple thing to do, walk out show the clothes, then walk down the stairs, walk around the room, and then back up. We had 2 rehearsal where Savie was very clingy and not wanting to walk down the stairs even though it was only us there. I was really hoping that she would be ok for the show and not crabby, but there is also the fact that we did it at 6pm after being in school all day. I made sure she got a nap even though it wasn't as long a nap as I wanted, but she really needed it since the show was at night, 7pm to be exact.

But she did so great. We had her new teddy bear and BeBe with us, I put ribbons in her hair to match her outfits and we had so much fun. She did a great job, she walked out, stood, down the stairs, and around the room. She even used the flash light to show her purse and bracelet off. I can't wait for the pictures. I just wish that hubby had been there to see the whole thing but SAM was there and she liked it. The people that were there, I think there were about 20 of them, said that she did such a great job for her first time and her age.I can't wait for next year. Maybe I should have let her be in the pageant this year, lol.

As soon as I have pictures I will be posting them so please, check back for them ok?

It's offically summer here!!!!

Today was going to be a good day. I had planned on taking a break from preschool and go to the movies. I thought it was about time for that big event in her life. I think this is about the age that I took my niece to her first. Plus the movie was only $1, yes you read that right $1. I was in love with that. All summer long on Wednes. I was really looking forward to this. We go there late (this time it was hubby's fault) so we rushed to get our tickets and find seats. Happy Feet started and I think about 15 minutes into the movie when it happened. The filmed burned.

I thought we were past the stage of having film reels in the theater but I guess I am wrong. We waited for a good 20 minutes to see if they would get it fixed but it turns out that this was the second time that this has happened. So we left. And got a rain check and we left. We went to the playgroup area and let the kids play for awhile, then we had lunch and went our separate ways. The cost of movies today:

Movie: $2 (refunded)
popcorn: $5.75
Lunch: $8.29
The time spent with friends: priceless
(yes, very MasterCard like I know)

Well I am hoping that next week when we go that things will work out for us but it was a good first time.

Is it really that bad?

That my daughter licked the spatula after making our own colored sugar?? Does it sounds as bad as I think it does? Maybe I should tell the whole story.

It's hot so of course we want Popsicles and ice cream and watermelons. So being the green person that I am trying to be, I wanted to make my own. I found some good ones here and thought they were a good start so I decided to try my own recipe. It was a simple one of yogurt, fruit, vanilla extract, and water. I let Savie have one after lunch and it was a bomb. She barely ate half of one and when I tasted it I could see why, they were pretty bland and yucky. So then I thought "Well the glitter pops sounded kinda good, I want to try that." But there was a catch to the whole thing. I don't have any colored sugar in the house, just cane sugar. But then I found found this and thought it was the perfect quick project for Savie and I. I was hoping that she would make pink and something else. I knew she would want to make pink that is the color of the year. Everything is pink, the cup, the the clothes, the shoes, etc.

In all fairness I had planned on letting her make whatever color she wanted, make it as light or dark as she wanted. But that was not to be, she made it dark. It was getting pretty dark, almost blood red but I finally talked her into letting me add more sugar to help it lighten up. Got the red done and then started in on the second color. And from that you get this.

Do you know what she is doing? Can you guess what my sweet little girl is doing? She's licking the spatula. The sugar covered spatula!!!!!!!! A green sugar covered spatula!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell me things are not as bad as I think they are.

I love summer

I love summer. at least I will. I am hoping to get into better shape, the Farmer's Market is coming, and I hope to win this. This is just one of the reasons I love popping into 5 Minutes For Mom. They always have great things to say, giveaways, etc. Head over and take a look. I think these are really great for moms with multiple kids or for groups. It's all a part of their "Two week toy giveaway" head over and see what other toys are shown.

Ok now don't get mad

but I won again (ducking pillows). This time it was a giveaway from almost 2 weeks ago.

Did I tell you about "Frontier Days" in town a couple of weeks ago? I don't think I did (I need to also put pictures up of it). Savie and I went with another mom and her two kids. Savie and I had fun but I don't think my friend J did. But she had two kids to deal with and one was a little over a year so she's a squirmy little thing. There were a lot of fun rides for the kids to go on but there was a downside, we parents even had to have tickets to go on with the kids. That was a bummer especially when every ride takes 3 tickets and 20 tickets cost $15. But we did get to go on cool things like this one and of course we had to do this when we got there. But like most carnivals/fairs there is always the area that is set up for business's to do freebie's/giveaways. And as you can see from this and this I love giveaways. Well.....I won!! Free steaks from Schwan's!!!!!! I love this company and would love to order things from them all the time. If I could share my luck I would (ha ha) but I think I have hit the end of it.

On another note, Savie had her Dr. appt's today and he thinks it may be allergies. I was suppose to get a script for it tonight but it somehow didn't make it to the pharmacy's. Odd how that happened. But that means that I can pick it up tomorrow after I call the Dr's office and find out what happened to it. At least now I know why she might have a runny nose/cough for the past 15 days. Wish me luck.

I love....

finding new things. And right now it's photo sites where I can mess with the pictures I've taken. I've been wondering where Fussy has been going to do her pictures. They are so great, with the bubble writing and the everything. And then Ms Amanda did it to. But she gave me the place to go try it myself, picnik. So for your viewing pleasure I give you these

Photobucket
one of the Easter pictures i took before we went in to see the Easter Bunny

Photobucket

This is one from Frontier Days here in Sierra Vista. It was their first time doing it but they did it really good.

Photobucket

This is one from horse days. I did a little 1960's magic to it.

Ok now that you've seen what I've been doing for the last hour I think I need a bad mommy moment, lol.

Just a little info

Well first things first.... I won!!!!!!!! I was over at my friends Anna's blog and she was having a great giveaway so I entered but I love talking to her online anyways but I'm getting sidetracked here. She had some really cute things for her giveaway and was just commenting to say hi. But then this morning I got a comment on my blog saying I won!!!!!!!! So I was doing this (kinda) this morning. I love this song and it's my "happy dance" song (don't forget to turn on your speakers, lol)

Or maybe this one

I had my speakers on and Savie was all over the room dancing, lol. I wish I had my camera with me, it was just to cute.

I think I need a soapbox.....

at least for tonight, and my reason for needing a soapbox you ask???

TOURIST SEASON

I know that for most of you this is the time of year when start to think of where you will be going when the kids are out of school. I've seen the bumper sticker about tourist season and hunting season, you know the one I mean?

Living here in Bisbee is great. most of the time. All winter long we have snowbird-ers down here enjoying the mild winter that we have. Did I meantion that we got snow maybe twice this year? It's one of the things I love about living here, no snow. I can not handle snow (sorry family in Idaho) so I'm glad we live here where it's just really cold. But I'm getting off the topic here. The snowbird-ers are great, they are usually older couples with their RV's visiting stores, galleries, etc. You barely notice them since some of them have a second home here and have been visiting for years. But then it gets warm and they slowly start to leave and the other kind of tourist come. The ones that are looking for "a quaint, little town", something "cute" with quaint people and shops. Well that is Bisbee, a charming town.

My problem is with the tourist who insist on telling their children lies about the town. Now before you get upset finish reading (then get upset, lol). The other day as Savie and I were walking thru the train park where some of the local artist, homeless, locals like to hang out. This little kid, maybe about 6-7 years old, asked his dad what the homeless guy was doing. Dad tells him
"Oh he's homeless son, those kinds of people are always in little towns like this."

OH REALLY?!?!? You don't have homeless people in whatever town you came from? Everyone that leaves in your area has a job and a home? Two parent households? Great schools? No drop-outs? I don't agree with parents telling kids this when they are visiting another town, it's like going to someones house and talking about their house or cooking or backyard. That is just rude. True in his defense, he probably didn't realize that a local was standing so close or that he was talking that loud.

My other complaint about tourist is that they have a bad habit of standing in the middle of the street and read a map. I understand they don't know where they are going and are enjoying the scenic views but get on the sidewalk or step to one side. It's really not safe to do that here. There are a lot of blind turns and people (read tourist) don't drive the speed limit so standing out away from cars is not a safe practice.

Ok I think I am ready to get off my soapbox now, thanks for listening to my rant.

I am sooooo tired, forgive me if I yawn. Today was the Border to Border Air Show in Douglas. It was suppose to be a family thing but hubby had a fever and I didn't want to hear the whining when we were out so he stayed home. We saw a lot of great plans, a couple of helicopters, some great looking motorcycles and show cars, and then headed over to the carnival for some rides. I will post about it tomorrow, I'm just having a hard time staying awake. And my feet hurt, lol.

It's time to party!!!!!!! part2

Ok I know that my original post is a little depressing but it was late and I was tired so let's try this again.

I am a 31 year old SAHM married to a man who is twice my age, with a very active 3 year old, Savie, and an 8 yr old English Pointer, Halley. We've moved from the Bay Area in CA to a very small town in AZ, Bisbee, AZ to be exact. We have moved away from friends and family, something that is not totally new to me but this is different.

I started this as a way to stay in touch with my family who is scattered across Northern California and Nevada, but also as a way to stay on the computer. It started as an outlet, a way to connect with people even if I couldn't see them face to face. I am not a very social person. I have very little social skills and would much rather, like I said, do the background stuff. I'm the mom that makes brownies for a play date, stays to help you clean up after the birthday party and offers to watch your oldest while you go take care of the younger one. Yep that's me. Give me a couple more kids to watch and I'm pretty much ok. Which is why I am going back to school to get my degree so I can teach preschool/kindergarten teacher. I love kids, a lot, which is why there will always be a lot of pictures of my daughter and other kids on my blog and none of me. I try to keep up with the other moms with the Tackle's and Wednesday's, sky watching and other stuff.

I almost forgot to list what I would like to win, there is just to much good stuff to pick but here are my top 3 choices.

#58, # 62, and #79 I also like #70, #91, #94 (gotta have a booklight, lol), #108, #129 (gotta love the books).

IT'S TIME TO PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!

Ultimate Blog Party 2008

It's that time again ladies, time to head over to 5 Minutes For Mom and check out the party!!!!! I loved the party last year but I was just a newbie to the whole blogging scene and just missed the party but I am here this year!!!! So let me introduce myself.

I am a 31 yr old SAHM to a very active 3 yr old little girl and have been married for almost 2 years. I am living in Arizona, away from everything and everyone I know. I have no family here and usually feel a little alone. I know it sounds depressing but it's a fact. This was not my plan but I am so happy with what I have. I wouldn't trade my daughter, or my husband, for anything. (Maybe just where we live, lol)

Ok let me get back to talking about me. I love reading to the point where I go thru withdrawals if I haven't read a book in days. Magazines don't really count, they take less then an hour for me to read, lol. I need a novel. I also love to crochet which is hard for me to do sometimes because I have carpal tunnel syndrome. But that doesn't stop me from testing patterns for my online friend Anna. She has great stuff that I love to make and test for her. But again back to me.

I don't really know what to say. This blog is a way for me to talk to other mom's, and dad's, that I normally wouldn't be able to. I am not a outgoing person in real life. I am a very behind the scene, "let me help set-up and clean-up", stuff like that. I am easily distracted (which is why it's taken me almost 2 hours to get this done, lol). I am not one for schedules but would rather fly by the seat of my pants. i really have a hard time talking about me so let me get on to someone else.

I met some great ladies last year so, come on in, bounce around, check out the party and don't be a wallflower, that's my job!!!!!! LOL
