Animal Commericals

I love animal commercials. You know the ones where it's all about the dog/cat/bird and it's cute like this one for Black & Decker

or this one

But this one I don't really get or find it funny. What do you think?

Would you buy this?

My friend K would love these. I am not a big fan of crating dogs but this is just ridicules. If your going to do it then do it, don't make their crate an end table.

Would a Good Morning be so hard?

Sometimes I wish if K was going to call me early in the morning that it would be for a good reason. Just to say Good Morning. Not to tell me that her neighbor, from across the street, dog's was out (AGAIN) and was in her yard (AGAIN) and that her dog was trying to attack it. Now I am a dog lover and don't wish harm to any animal but I have no sympathy for her today. I have told her to call the cops every time this dog is out running loose, getting in her yard, whatever the case may be. If you don't call, the dog doesn't have a record of disturbances and they don't know to keep an eye out for him. I know this because I have called about the dog 2 streets over from me. See the post I wrote about that here.

Did you read it? Ok so now your caught up. The dog that is 2 streets over has charged me several times, not only when I have taken my dog for a walk but when it's just Savie and I. That is where I draw the line. I understand that dogs being dogs, they will protect what they see as theirs, but to charge me when I am walking with my daughter will get you hurt. It doesn't matter what the breed is so I won't even tell you what the dog is but I have called about this dog several times.Every time. Not just when I am with Savie. this dog needs to be controlled. I blame the dogs actions on the owner.

Why you ask? Ever you ever seen people let their dogs out on a deserted road and then take off? try to 'race' the dog home?Yeah well that's what this guys does. Across one of the few major streets that we have in town. Not that far from a blind curve where people are driving 45MPH. This dog is going to get hurt. I have almost hit it once. (Going to the store after dark almost didn't see it when I turned the corner, doesn't help that this is a dark colored dog.)

So if she's going to get upset because the dog finally gets into her yard and messes with her lamb. and dog. and puppies. I can't help her.

13 Thursday

  1. which is worse leaving your dog at home or in the car during the rain?
  2. is feeding your dog canned and dry better than than cooking their food yourselves?
  3. is a walk once a day enough?
  4. is it really so bad to let your dog sleep in the bed with you?
  5. why do we let our dogs lick our faces after they lick themselves?
  6. do all little dogs have a "little dog complex" or is that just us?
  7. how long does it take for the dog and owner to look alike?
  8. why do dogs love to ride wiht their heads out the window?
  9. and why do we let them?
  10. why do some people dress up their dogs in clothes?
  11. and why do our dogs let us?
  12. what are people thinking when they name their dog "Sir Ralph snoozer"?
  13. is there really such a think as an ugly puppy?

Ok those are all my questions about dogs................ for now,lol

Let me start by saying that I love dogs. I have a dog, well actually I had 2 but that's another story. I love the fact that I live in a very dog friendly place, where you can go just about anywhere with your dog, regardless of size, and it's ok. I'm not talking about going to the park with them I'm talking about going downtown and going into a few stores with them, galleries with them. Most of the stores in downtown have water bowls outside for the dogs and treats for them too. Maybe it's because it's Arizona but there are water bowls everywhere. Hubby would go to the bar with his dog Jess if he was still alive, he did it back in CA. Even the mail people are happy to see the dogs our mail guy throws a dog treat to all the dogs on his route.
My problem is with the loose dogs, the ones that you know have a home but the owners have done nothing to make sure that the dogs stay in their yards. I see this every day, there are 3 dogs on my block alone (there's only 4 house's on my block) and when I take Halley, my English Pointer, out for a walk early in the morning we must pass at least 15 more on my mile and half walk. There a couple of house's that I don't walk by because I'm never sure if the dog is in the yard or not and I don't want to be in the middle of a dog fight that early in the day. What got me thinking about this is this blog, I was looking around and came across her post about Toddlers and Dogs. This is so true. I hate the fact there are so many dogs running loose in the part of town. Savie isn't afraid of them but Halley thinks she has to protect us from every dog we see so I end up being pulled in two directions, Halley pulling me forward trying to get to the other dog and myself trying to pull Savie along and stop her from yelling at the dog. Some days it's just to much but sooner or later they will both get past this, this thing they have with the other dog. I can't wait for the day that Halley is just going to ignore the other dog.
