Works For Me Wednesday #11

Button

The past couple of weeks, well really months, I have been working and most days it's great. The kids are a lot of fun and they are learning things, playing with things, it's an adventure. I have learned a lot about myself and just how much patience I have ( a lot). But everyone needs a break from that right? And Savie needs some "mommy time" where it is just the two of us doing stuff, like it used to be before we started going to school. So for the past couple of weeks we have taken off Wednesdays to go the movies. When we go back to school on Thursday and finish out the week we are both in a little better mindset, having that break from all the kids and noise and stuff. It has helped with my mindset to. Thank goodness when school starts again in a couple of weeks (Aug. 6th to be exact) that I will only be there 3 days a week.

So for the summer that is what is working for me? How about you? What is working for you?

Today was going to be a good day. I had planned on taking a break from preschool and go to the movies. I thought it was about time for that big event in her life. I think this is about the age that I took my niece to her first. Plus the movie was only $1, yes you read that right $1. I was in love with that. All summer long on Wednes. I was really looking forward to this. We go there late (this time it was hubby's fault) so we rushed to get our tickets and find seats. Happy Feet started and I think about 15 minutes into the movie when it happened. The filmed burned.

I thought we were past the stage of having film reels in the theater but I guess I am wrong. We waited for a good 20 minutes to see if they would get it fixed but it turns out that this was the second time that this has happened. So we left. And got a rain check and we left. We went to the playgroup area and let the kids play for awhile, then we had lunch and went our separate ways. The cost of movies today:

Movie: $2 (refunded)
popcorn: $5.75
Lunch: $8.29
The time spent with friends: priceless
(yes, very MasterCard like I know)

Well I am hoping that next week when we go that things will work out for us but it was a good first time.

Sunday Scribblings #104

This Sundays Scribbling is out of this world (pun intended).

I believe in other worlds, other planets and all of that. Yes you may be thinking something along the lines of how Men In Black showed it. The whole marble is a universe thing, yeah I can believe it. Who are we to say that we are the only ones, in the known universe, that are smart enough to think this way. We are not that smart. There is something out there, who knows where, but somewhere there are things/peoples/aliens watching us and laughing at us.

Or maybe it's something like The Matrix and we are all connected to something and don't even realize it. We could be something that is so much bigger than ourselves that we aren't even aware of it.

There are plenty of movies out there that have put this theory out there and for the most part, we as a society have taken them as just movies, laughing at people who really believe in everything that happened at Area 51.

What about ghost? Whose to say that they are the only way that other lifeforms can connect with us on this planet, it's the only form that some of us would recognize. Maybe that is the only way that some of us will be to accept that we are not alone. (man that sounds kinda cliche doesn't it?)
