Tackle It Tuesday #20

I have finally gotten around to tackling this mess in my bedroom. It's all because of my friend giving me this book. But I am getting a little sidetracked.

In my bedroom I have a pile of clothes next to the hamper that is a mix of clean clothes, things I need to take care of and who knows what else. I got rid of a basket that I was using because things were still on the floor, mainly because they were overflowing the basket, lol. I really wanted a stacking shelve so things would be up off the floor, I could see what was there, etc. I bought a 4 tier rolling rack that is now in place and being used. Now I just need to remember to hang the clothes up when I'm done, lol.

What are you tackling this week?

Tackle It Tuesday #19

Button

I finally have a got around to cleaning out my daughter's toy box. A month or two ago I had a big go around with Savie about cleaning up her mess and I told her that whatever I picked up I was going to put it outside. I took everything. Now before you think that she had no toys to play with in the house that is far from the truth. She had plenty of stuff to play with in the house it was just to much. So outside there is a whole box of toys that is getting on all kinds of dust and bugs on it. It's in the way of everything but I don't want to go thru it but yesterday was a good day. I needed to just do it and be done with it.

We went thru the box and found the missing pieces for things and got rid of things that she doesn't play with anymore. She did really good. We got rid of a lot of stuff. The box is now half full with a box of Lego's and a hamper full of stuffed animals. Just in time to, her birthday is in two months and then it's on to Christmas.

Tackle It Tuesday #18

Button

Today's tackle is something I should have been doing every month. I save every receipt that I get. Since I do the books for his business, that's a lot of receipts, and since I shop to much there are a lot of receipts. Anyways I have a box on the dresser where they are suppose to go and then at the end of the month I'm suppose to file them away. Well for the past 5 months, yes I said 5 months, I haven't done it. I have just let them pile up. Mostly because I just don't have the time. I should have just left Savie at school and come home to do it but in the summer the bedroom is the hottest place in the entire house and turning on the fan in there only makes the papers blow around so it's kinda hard to do it that way.

But yesterday was the day. Hubby was home and could keep Savie busy while I did the receipts. It took me about 4 hours to get most of them put away. I finally did it. Now it's just a matter of remembering to do this every month.

What about you? What are you tackling this week?

Tackle It Tuesday #15

Well I didn't plan on having a tackle for today but I do. Like I said before I was re-ended while my car was still in the driveway (rolling my eyes). Well I never got around to calling in the claim, I've never had to do one before so I had no idea what was in store for me. I had to call 4 different numbers to finally get thru to make my claim. Since I have never had to do this before I didn't know what was needing of me but is it normal for them to ask you to "verify the age of the driver?" I have never heard that before and thought it was something that they should have but that's ok. Since I was coming home at lunch anyways today I knew I was going to call and get that taken care of and I did. It was one of the longest 16 minutes on the phone. LOL

What about you? What are you tackling?

Tackle It Tuesday #15

Well I finished my tackle that I started last week. Remember I said I was crocheting a belt? Well I finially finished it but will have to wait until tomorrow to see if it works (and take a picture). Poor baby fell asleep not long after we got home so there was no trying it on her.

What about you? How are you tackling things? Head over to 5 minutes for Mom and see some more.

Tackle It Tuesday

Button

This is one that I have been putting off for a long time. Savie is so tall that most of her pants keep falling down. I am consistently telling her to pull her pants up, which I am sure she is sick of her by now. She is already 3 ft tall so most of the 3T clothes that should fit don't because the pants make her look like she is wearing high waters. The first couple of times it was funny to see but after awhile it was just annoying. So my fix for the problem?

Buying a belt.

Or rather make a belt.

I spent most of the day, at school, trying to make a belt, to fit her. It has to be pink (her new favorite color) and of course long enough. I've gotten about 3 rows done and hope to get it finished tonight if I get it done I will post pictures so check back tonight.

Tackel It Tuesday

My tackle was one that I have been putting off for weeks. We live in a copper mining town so I expect the water to be a little weird. It only stands to reason, right? Well growing up in CA I was used to the shower head getting clogged and having to clean it or change it but I have noticed that it takes a lot less time here. I have bought several different things to clean it that are suppose to clean lime and the like. (I am not going to name names) but none of them have really worked. I even tried soaking it in baking soda and vinegar. Nothing works. I finally broke down the other night and did the only thing I know that works.

A toothpick.
Yes that's right i said a toothpick. I have to sit down and go hole by hole and clean each and every one of the heads out with a toothpick to get it even close to spraying like a normal shower.

That was my tackle, what about you?

Not what I planned

Button

This is not what I planned for my tackled. I had planned to show you that I shampooed another carpet in my house (you can read about the other carpet I cleaned here). I did the bedroom mainly because I wanted something small to do since I was washing clothes as well that day but Halley must have thought that I needed something else to do. Something bigger and messier and smellier to do.

So she killed a skunk. Again.

It's a good thing that I found a really good recipe for getting rid of the smell otherwise she would still be sleeping outside. SO I spent a good 30 minutes giving her a bath hosing her down and getting getting myself all dirty in the process. Now that she is cleaned I have to clean the bathroom, change the shower curtains, and throw everything in the wash. So I guess instead of tackling the carpet I tackled my dog, lol!!!!!!!!

So what have you tackled this week?

Tackle it TUESDAY #11

I really wish that I had remembered to take so pictures before I did this. I had a very old house with very old carpet. It really needs to be cleaned, or better yet replaced. I would but for this house it's just not worth it. But I'm getting off the subject. The carpet was cleaned when we moved into the house about 4 yrs ago and since then I've shampooed the carpet about 3 times. I just don't want to go thru the hassle of renting one or trying to find a friend that I can borrow one from. It's just a living room and bedroom that have carpet. Well a couple of weeks ago I bought a stick rug to clean the carpet. I didn't think it would since there was no hot water or anything to run through. i did a small section where Halley my dog sleeps just to test it out and see how well it would work. It worked great. I had to change the height adjustment on my vacuum when I did the area!!!! The only downside was that it took a whole small can, I was hoping that it wouldn't take a lot off cans to do the whole living room but at this rate I think it will take about 6 cans to get everything including moving everything around.

Well that's my tackle how about you? What did you tackle this week?

*****edited to add the link for the rug stick*****

Tackle It Tuesday #9

Button

Oh this is a good one. I have been puttin this off for at least a year. But I finally got around to cleaning the kitchen table. Doesn't sound so bad does it? It's the kitchen table how bad could it be?

Photobucket Photobucket

I took Savie down to Sam's so I could clean the house and my plan was to sort thru receipts and get them out of the box on my dresser. BUt for me to do that I needed the table and, as you can see, the table is a little full. It took me 2 hours to clean off my kitchen table. I cleaned everything and I mean everything on the table. I moved things around, wiped down the table, and thru things away. I even cleaned under the microwave. My table was so dusty and dirty that I went thru an entire sponge cleaning it. This is the end result.

Photobucket Photobucket

There's enough room at the table for me to sit with my laptop!!!!!

Tackle It Tuesday #8

<span class=Photobucket" border="0">

I had a tackle all set and ready to go for today but I just couldn't do it. I was going to go bathing suit shopping. Savie has one so I need one to, right? In the next town over there is an indoor pool and some of the rest of our group have been there a couple of times in the past month (march) and we haven't gone because...mommy doesn't have a bathing suit. My friend J told me just to go in some shorts and top but I don't even have that, lol. But since Savie was having a meltdown and I am trying to follow what my newest parenting book says about that stuff. We tried leaving the store and sitting in the car but that didn't work so we came home. A 45 minute drive with my 3yr old yelling and screaming at me for about 30 min of it. (she fell asleep after that). Not the tackle I wanted to get done but I think I have tackled the whole temper tantrum in stores issue, lol.

I know this is late but I'm hoping that next week my tackle will be my receipt box and getting our taxes done.

Tackle It Tuesday-part 2

Photobucket

Ok I have found a way to get pictures up so here we go.

This is Savie sitting next to our supplies.

The potting soil (that got mixed with a neighbors soil), our gloves, shovel, and the seeds we planted.

notice the smaller version of my gloves and tools? Yeah Savie thinks she's so cute now.

Tackle It Tuesday

Photobucket

Wow it's Tuesday already? Well here is my little bit to tackling so far. I finally got around to planting all the flowers I bought. (I bought seeds not plants). Saturday I mixed soil with a neighbor so I should have some really good soil and be able to get something growing. Yesterday I pulled everything out of the bags, lined up the pots on the wall (so Savie could reach them) and started pulling dirt out of the garbage can. Savie did one pot at a time, making a mess of herself of course, but got all the pots full of dirt. I put the seeds in and let her water them. So far it's been 2 days and she has watered them everyday. The package on one said we should see sprouts in 2 weeks so keep your fingers crossed.

(something is wrong with my computer and I can't upload pictures but I will putting them up soon.)

Oh I forgot to mention I made myself a To Do list for today and that had about 20 things on it, most which I knew would get pushed to tomorrow but the thought was there, right? Any way the list included vacuuming my bedroom. Now this is a tackle for me. I live in a small trailer and there isn't much carpet so it should only take about 10 minutes to do it right? Yeah but that means that I have to pull the vacuum out of the second bedroom, clean up the big stuff on the floor (crayons, dolls, paper, etc) I should show just how bad the bedroom floor was, it was bad, take my word for it. Well that is my tackle for Tuesday but I have a lot more to do, lol.

Tacke It Tuesday

It's Tuesday again and I am trying to decide what I want to tackle. This week it has to be something small since I was out and about all day on Sat and it snowed/hailed/rained on Sunday. So I have a choice, I can clean the inside of my car or I can empty out the change jar. I think Savie is falling asleep as I type this so I may be able to empty the jar and fold and put away clothes while she is out. She really wants to help clean the car since I told her she can clean the windows so I don't want to do that without her. I will update later on when I have picked, and completed, one.

*****************UPDATED********************

Well I did it, forgot to take pictures, but I did it. I got the back seat cleaned up, well just Savie's area to be honest. But I got the seat wiped down and the vaccuumed the underside of her area. I vacuumed the trunk of the Explorer but while waiting for the carpet freshener I decided to trim the tree and the rosebush and the rosemary ( I think that's that what hubby said that is) and man does my back hurt. Then before taking our shower I did the change jar and at last count it was $63.50 in change, not bad huh?

Tackle It Tuesday

wow it's been awhile since I have felt like tackling anything. But I am so proud of myself, even though we didn't do this on Tuesday I had to do it. Our driveway has slowly been taken over by the stuff my husband uses for his construction work so things are slowly taking over. This is what it looked like before we started cleaning. I know it's not a great picture but I didn't remember to take one until we were halfway done. Does Halley look happy? She isn't because we keep telling her to move out of the way, lol. It took 2 truckloads full to get all of the junk and stuff that we weren't using out. This is the finished driveway.

At least now we can pull in further. Hopefully next week can tackle this

Tacke it Tuesday

ok I will try this one more time. I started doing this meme, from 5 minutes for Mom, last year before I started working but then had to kinda stop because I was just to tired all the time. But I did one today.

It may not sound like a big tackle but it's something that I've been putting off for a few weeks. I cleaned out brush's. Yeah I know it sounds like a simple thing but for my daughter and I, it's a lot of hair. Every time I brush my hair I lose some and same with Savie. There was a lot of hair in the drain when I was finished. I had to soak our brushes, which I did while we were at the library, and then came home and rinsed them out. Let's see if we can do it two weeks in a row. ha ha ha

(oh by the way, I didn't link it because I want to do it a couple of weeks in a row before I link back.)

Tackle It Tuesday

It's Tuesday and I should be working on the pile of clothes that I have sitting on my bed. I have at least 3 loads there and 2 more out on the line drying. I don't want to do it but I have to work tomorrow night so I guess I better get cracking. Forgive me if don't show pictures but I can't load pictures onto my computer still. I better try and get some of it done while she's still sleeping. I'm hoping that I can get some of it at least folded before she wakes up. She's getting over something, poor baby still has a runny nose and a bad cough, the fever from Sunday is gone and so is his upset stomach no more throwing up at night thank goodness for me). Well I think I hear footsteps in the hall but I will post later when the clothes are done.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UPDATE~
Well everything that was in the house is done but there are still 2 loads on the line, they will have to wait until tomorrow since we have no plans tomorrow that should not be a problem. Did everything fine, she's still upset but you would never know it from all the running around she's been doing.
We went and got some of her Easter stuff for her but since we aren't religious and don't go to church and she's not getting any candy there wasn't a whole lot to get her. She has a new basket, some plastic eggs and then tomorrow when I go to work I'm going to buy some stickers and stuff to put in her eggs. I'm not going to pay $3.00 for a sheet of stickers here when I can get 3-5 sheets for $2.00.
Oh yeah I ordered Goose eggs!!!!!!! I can't wait for them to get here. I'm going to go to the Co-op tomorrow and see if they are in, I wanted something different for Easter since this is her first time. Savie and I are going to dye the eggs on Sat., unless something comes up, the goose eggs and then some regular chicken eggs, and then sometime before I go to work (hopefully) I'll put the plastic eggs together and then get up early on Sunday and hide them in the yard. Am I just asking to be hurt or what?? I work until midnight on Sat and then I want to get up early and do all of this, what am I thinking?? Oh well the things we do for our kids. lol
